Transcriptional profiling of Inhibitory Neurons from Human Cortex

This data set includes single cell and nuclear transcriptomic profiles, assayed from human brain regions. Anatomical specificity is achieved by microdissecting tissue from defined brain areas, such as cortical layers or cell groups in LGd.

Individual layers of cortex were dissected from brain tissues including the middle temporal gyrus (MTG), anterior cingulate gyrus (CgGr), primary visual cortex (V1C), primary motor cortex (M1C), primary somatosensory cortex (S1C) and primary auditory cortex (A1C).

Additional RNA-Seq data generated as part of the Brain Initiative Cell Census Network (BICCN) from ABA is available as part of the Brain Cell Data Center (BCDC) portal.

Gene Expression by Cluster, trimmed means obtained from http://transcriptomic-viewer-downloads.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/human/trimmed-means.zip/ for the human cortex was normalized using the expression of GAPDH as 100. GeneID, synonyms and descriptions were added to each gene symbol of the ABA trimmed means output. The cells were sorted into excitatory, inhibitorry and non-neuronal cells.

The molecular brain database could be searched using the built in search tool with the terms Entrez GeneID, gene symbol, synonym or description.
